SweetBun Review

SweetBun came to me as a listing request, so the usual caveat applies: I have been through the product the way anyone can, but I have not lived with it for a week. What follows is what the site actually does, what it charges, and the parts I could not check from the outside.

The first thing worth saying is that SweetBun is not really an AI girlfriend app with extras bolted on. It is a small entertainment network with a chat app inside it. The sidebar alone lists Discover, Sweet Movies, Private Packs, Sweet Casino, group chat, roleplay, live webcam and a Play Mode, plus a create menu with a character builder, an image generator, a video generator and a Movie Maker. Whether you want that much surface area is a real question, but nobody else in this bracket ships it.

The roster and how it is written

Characters are split across Women, Anime and Men, and the site claims over 100 personalities. What stands out is not the count but the writing. Each card opens mid-scene, in second person: you step into the bedroom and she sits up on the edge of the bed; you recognise her from the photos your sister showed you last week. These are scene prompts rather than character bios, which suits a platform built around roleplay and makes the grid read very differently from the usual list of names and hobbies.

Inside a chat

Open a character and the layout is three things at once: the conversation in the middle, a Profile, Gallery and Gifts panel on the right, and a composer that can send an image request, a video request or a gift. A phone icon at the top starts a voice call. The Gallery tab starts empty and fills with what you generate together, which is a neater idea than a pre-baked photo set, though it also means the visual side costs tokens from the first tap.

Live webcam, movies and the rest of the network

Live Webcam is its own product: "Video Chat with Girls," priced per minute in tokens, with a Connect button and a discount badge. Sweet Movies is an episodic story format with proper title cards and synopses, most of which read "Coming soon," so treat that as a promise rather than a feature. Private Packs, Sweet Casino and Movie Maker round it out. It is a lot, and the honest risk is breadth over depth: several of these are clearly newer than the chat.

What Premium costs

Premium is $20 a month, $16 a month on a three-month plan, or $10 a month billed yearly, and at the time of writing there is a sale running against those prices. Every tier unlocks the same list: unlimited chats, 100 monthly tokens, 18+ image generation, 18+ video generation and the real-time webcam. The yearly plan is the only one that lands at a price that competes with the top of this category; the monthly is at the expensive end.

The number to watch is the 100 tokens. Generation and live minutes both draw on them, and the webcam is priced per minute, so a heavy month will not stop at the subscription. That is the same trap Secrets AI's Moments and AmorLink's Sparks set, and it is worth budgeting for rather than being surprised by.

What I could not verify

Chat quality, memory across sessions and how good the generated video actually looks are all unknowns here, and they are exactly the things that decide whether a platform is worth a year of anyone's money. The site publishes a privacy policy and terms but little detail beyond that, and for an adult product that is worth reading before you upload anything of your own. Use a dedicated email and keep identifying details out of the conversation.

The verdict

SweetBun is the broadest thing in this part of the category: chat, photos, video, voice calls, a live webcam mode, group chats, roleplay and a character builder in one subscription, with scene writing that is genuinely better than the norm. The free account costs nothing and will tell you within ten minutes whether the tone fits you. Go in knowing the monthly price is steep unless you commit to a year, that the token meter is the real cost, and that the parts I could not test are the parts that matter most over time.
